July 22, 2014
1:00pm – 2:30pm ET
On July 22, join the EPA and Climate Interactive’s Beth Sawin to learn more about how your community can incorporate green infrastructure to create healthier, more sustainable places to live and work.
This interactive webinar will be an opportunity for community, business, and municipal leaders to learn more about an innovative new tool that will allow cities to see the impacts of green infrastructure investment. Currently in development in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, this tool will soon be extended to cities across the country.
The tool, a computer simulation, allows users to experiment with several green infrastructure initiatives, varying levels of community support, and different climate scenarios to see the implications of local investments. The webinar will highlight the differences between green and grey infrastructure for stormwater management and include impacts on water and air quality, jobs, and community well-being.
Beth will share her experience developing the tool in partnership with a number of Milwaukee organizations and leaders. She will also discuss plans for using the tool to catalyze new partnerships and investment in green infrastructure.
