As a result of their ongoing work to educate and mobilize more than 630,000 residents of Northern Manhattan on environmental issues affecting their quality of life, West Harlem Environmental Action, Inc. (WE ACT for Environmental Justice) has become a leader in the nationwide movement for environmental justice, influencing the creation of federal, state and local policies affecting the environment.

Energy Industry & Mobility: WE ACT focuses on increasing bus transit and using cleaner fuels to increase mobility of local residents while decreasing air pollution
Resilience: WE ACT is working to produce action plans and workshops for the various scenarios that are facing New York under the threat of climate change in order to boost resilience to extreme weather and other potential events
Health, Well-being, and Safety: WE ACT is working to transform the city into a greener and more communal space to increase options for recreation and improve health and wellness
Connection: WE ACT brings the voices of people of color and low-income residents to decision making in the city
