His work spans the non-profit and for-profit sectors with the aim of scaling innovative programs that achieve measurable impact and creating good jobs in the sustainability sector. Tim brings an entrepreneurial lens to his work that has led to leadership positions in the organizations he has created.
Most recently, Tim has served at the Co-Founder and CEO of Tradewater, a mission-based Certified B-Corp dedicated to collecting, controlling, and destroying potent greenhouse gases—super pollutants that include methane and ozone depleting substances (e.g., old refrigerants). These gases are up to 10,000 times a potent as carbon dioxide and cannot be withdrawn from the atmosphere once emitted. They are essential to mitigate to bend the curve on global warming. Tradewater has eliminated over 10.5 million tons of these gases to date and is on the path to achieve an additional 20 million tons of impact by 2030. Tim leads Tradewater’s staff of 65 people in eight countries to deliver high quality climate benefits to corporations and institutions, helping them meet their climate commitments.
Tim is a graduate of Northwestern University, was a Donella Meadows Fellow at the Sustainability Institute, and has served on numerous boards including the Lake Michigan Federation, Great Lakes United, Delta Institute (where he was a founder), Huron Mountain Wildlife Foundation, Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation, and the Lochland School.
