The question that has occupied me throughout my career in some form or other is this one: “What work should I be doing in order to have a disproportionate positive impact on the state of the world, making use of the priviliges that I have as a consequence of being born in the Netherlands?” It is what has led me to work on driving big corporates in a more sustainable direction through their procurement activities since 2008. It is also the question that leads me to spreading active optimism around climate change as widely as possible. The En‑ROADS Climate Workshop is one of my go-to tools to help my participants realize which policy interventions are more versus less impactful.
