The Climate Ambassador Accelerator is a one-month virtual training that combines the Mastering En‑ROADS online course with live sessions where you’ll learn to facilitate interactive climate events using the En‑ROADS Simulator. Co-developed by Climate Interactive and MIT Sloan, En‑ROADS has been used by over 1.5 million people, including 25,000+ leaders in business, government, and higher education programs.
Twice a week, join us on Zoom to go beyond the course material, learn facilitation techniques directly from experts, and connect with hundreds of climate leaders around the world. You’ll leave confident and equipped to run En‑ROADS events with audiences, such as a workshop with a city council, a simulation with a corporate board, or a role-playing game at an MBA class.

Dates: August 4 – September 4, 2026
Format: Virtual, self-paced course featuring short on-demand videos, readings, and ungraded quizzes supplemented by weekly Zoom sessions. Live sessions are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:00 AM EDT. Each 60-minute session includes expert-led presentations, a Q&A with the Climate Interactive team, and group discussions. All sessions are recorded and made available to participants.
Time commitment: 4–6 hours per week for one month.

Ambassador Certification: After completing the course and facilitating at least two En‑ROADS events, participants can apply to become a certified En‑ROADS Climate Ambassador. Rolling admissions, no deadline.
All live sessions will be held at 10 AM EDT (GMT-4). Participants in select regions will also have access to additional sessions focused on local climate context. Modules will be available to participants on August 3 (instructions sent via email).

After the live sessions end, you’ll continue to have access to the training course with no deadline. You’re invited to apply for the Ambassador certification after facilitating a minimum of two events.

Donation-based tuition means that we highly encourage all participants to donate at least $20. Higher donation amounts are welcome. If you cannot afford this, you can still access the training for free. The simulator and all course materials are free thanks to the generous support of Climate Interactive’s funders. Absolutely. Just apply as usual. When you receive your acceptance email on August 3, sign in with your existing account and register for the live sessions.
Each session runs about 60 minutes, including 30 minutes of core content with the Climate Interactive team, 10 minutes of Q&A, and 20 minutes of group discussions. They’re optional and designed to complement—not repeat—the content in the Mastering En‑ROADS course.
All sessions are recorded. We recommend attending live when possible, especially for the breakout activities, but recordings will be available.
If you can’t participate in the Climate Ambassador Accelerator, you can take the self-paced course at any time. The Mastering En‑ROADS course is available year-round. Simply create an account at learn.climateinteractive.org and access the course.
There are three main ways to use the En‑ROADS simulator with audiences: in a workshop, in a role-playing game, or in a student assignment. You can read more about our experience formats and watch Climate Interactive’s Executive Director, Andrew Jones, run a 15-minute version of a workshop to get a glimpse of what you could do as a facilitator.
After completing the training and facilitating at least two En‑ROADS events, you can apply to become a certified En‑ROADS Climate Ambassador—joining a global network of climate conversation facilitators. As a Climate Ambassador, you’ll identify your own opportunities to run events with your networks. We’ll occasionally share opportunities when they arise, but most Ambassadors find their own pathways. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
