We’re excited to share that our team and the collaborators we have worked with to develop the En-ROADS Climate Solutions Simulator were just awarded the 2025 System Dynamics Applications Award.
Presented annually by the System Dynamics Society, the award honors work that demonstrates the best real-world application of system dynamics. This is the second time our team has gotten this award. In 2013 Climate Interactive, MIT, and our other collaborators received the same recognition for the impact we achieved with our C-ROADS Simulator.

The En-ROADS Simulator, co-developed by Climate Interactive and MIT Sloan, exemplifies how system dynamics can move beyond technical circles to engage people with a range of expertise and make a difference. Our team works intentionally to make climate science and modeling accessible and engaging for users worldwide. As the award presenter noted, En-ROADS is a “truly unique specimen of system dynamics for the masses.”
This award is a shared recognition among the developers who ensure its rigor, the engagement specialists who make it accessible, and the millions of users around the world who bring it to life every day through workshops and games.
We’re deeply grateful to the team of contributors who have played a role in shaping the simulator over the years into what it is today, including:
