Dr. David Miller is co-founder and Managing Director of Clean Energy Ventures (CEV). CEV is a leading early stage venture capital fund focused on investing in companies commercializing disruptive advanced energy technologies that can grow to scale to address global climate disruption. Since 2005, David has helped lead investments into and/or served on the board of dozens of clean energy companies, which in turn have gone on to raise hundreds of millions of follow-on capital and to successful growth and acquisitions. Dr. Miller previously founded several companies, including Quantum Telecom Solutions. He is also a New England Chapter Director of Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2, www.e2.org), a national community of business leaders who advocate for good environmental policy while building economic prosperity. He received his BS and MS from MIT and completed his doctorate at MIT’s Lab for Energy and the Environment. His dissertation involved the development of a model that examined the impact of a variety of management and investment strategies and public policy initiatives on the success of new clean energy ventures. As Research Affiliate at MIT’s Sloan School of Management, he supervises the continuation of this work. Mr. Miller lives in Newton, MA with his wife and two children.
