Sustainable South Bronx cleans the air and improves green job skills in NYC

SustainableSouthBronxFounded 2001 to address green space and air pollution issues, Sustainable South Bronx works to help improve environmental and economic issues in New York City through social enterprise and green job training. Their programs include the Bronx Environmental Stewardship Training (BEST), which trains low-income residents in green jobs; SmartRoofs, which trains and pays participants to install green roofs; energy efficiency assistance; and educational programs to engage students in environmental efforts.
