Seeing the Global Energy and Climate Transition – Simulations in Action

May 7, 2014 by Ellie Johnston

The possibilities are expansive for young leaders to imagine the future they’d like to see, as they use systems thinking and simulations, like En-ROADS and C-ROADS. Here are some of the highlights of our work in this arena:

  1. Stanford graduate students compete to come up with a global energy transition plan. (3 min)

  2. MIT Professor John Sterman on the power of a role-playing exercise in building commitment (along with some negotiation drama). (3 min)

  3. MBA students describe the low carbon energy scenario they created and the impact of the simulation. (2 min)

  4. The “World Energy” role play exercise with MBA students at MIT Sloan School of Management (click through for more pics).
